"After many years of DJing and having transitioned from the realm of Technics 1200/1210 to digital DJing, I decided to take the leap into CDJ-2K-NXS2 territory. I had grown accustomed to Native Instruments DJ controllers, but grew tired of becoming a "zombie" by spending more time staring at my laptop screen than focusing on the crowd and music. I invested in a pair of XDJ-1000's which were awesome, but I eventually grew out of them citing a need for more flexibility and option. After many weeks of research and lots of communication with DJ TechTools (shoutout to Matias!). I decided to pull the trigger and invest in a pair of CDJ2000-NXS2. I've been satisfied with my purchase since day one and absolutely love the flexibility decks offer. The solid build quality means they will stand the rigors of constant gigging, the sound quality means they'll shine through any system and the plethora of connectivity options–even without a laptop–means I'll always have a backup plan to ensure the music gets played whether it be CD, SD or USB/Ex-SDD. The intuitive GUI and great. My only gripe thus far is an aesthetic one–the faint, blurred "ghosting" that appears behind the scrolling waveform–though I'm confident this is something Pioneer will rectify soon. Speaking of Pioneer, my biggest (and most pleasant) surprise has been the amount of support this unit receives. Pioneer has dropped a new firmware update on a near monthly basis–something that every hardware company should abide by (hint hint Native Instruments). I digress. These decks aren't cheap, but you get what you pay for–in this case, a flagship product. However, if you're DJing for the long haul (ex: have your own LLC/biz, license, insurance, tax ID etc.) and are consistently gigging on a regular basis, then you know the difference between an expense and an investment. Would I recommend these to someone who's dreams of DJ superstardom will more than likely never expand beyond the basement? Of course not. For those looking to invest in a standalone setup for their business that will be showered with continuous updates, a prolonged shelf life and near infinite possibilities, look no further. And for the absolute best deal, hit up DJ TechTools. They gave me a quote that put others to shame and have locked me in as a customer for life. They're DJ's. Not part-time help at a Brick & Mortar store. No games. No bullshit. 5-star service."
